I took the kids out to explore a new place one evening, hiking in Green Lake, Wisconsin. The beautiful Norwegian Bay Wetlands. Yes we could have went straight home, done our normal bedtime routine. I wanted to make these early Fall days last just a little bit longer. It was a quiet night on the shores of Big Green Lake. We hiked the short (less than a mile long) trail.
It was an easy hike to do with the kiddos (ages 5 and just over 1 at the time), and everywhere you looked, you had beautiful scenery surrounding you. We definitely recommend that you check out more information on this spot and so many more if you are ever in the Green Lake, Wisconsin area. This land and others are provided and maintained by the Green Lake Conservancy.
We enjoy all the properties of the Green Lake Conservancy has to offer, including their special events. Like the Moonlit Summer Paddle, which you can read about here, or the growing in popular and sells out quickly Mitchel Glen Tour. These guided tours bring you down in to the gorge, and it’s something everyone should experience at least once. They do a summer and fall tour annually. Check their Facebook Page or sign up for their newsletter to know more and when they release those dates.
Watching these two walk hand in hand together made me a bit sentimental, almost caught me off guard. How did they get to be so big? Seeing them grow so quickly, these moments that I captured on video and camera felt so fleeting. I hope they continue to stand close by each other’s side, support each other and always find a way to explore new adventures together.
