If you haven’t taken the Mitchell Glen Tour in Green Lake Wisconsin, do not wait. The Green Lake Conservancy only hosts TWO public tours each year. They sell out fast! This limited tour is something our family highly recommends. Both in the early summer and late fall, you will not be disappointed if you attend either one!
There are about 80 steep wooden steps to get in and out of the ravine. Which isn’t a problem for most, but it may not be as suitable for very young children who want to be “independent”.
I had the opportunity to take just myself and my camera along with me for my first trip and will definitely bring back the kids when they are a bit older. I can already see how big their eyes will get when they see those massive sandstone bluffs.
These are some unique geological formations (formed over 12,000 years ago) to see for yourself and so much GREEN during the summer season (shown in this video clip below).
You felt so tiny right in the middle of Mitchell Glen. It was hard to not be in complete awe. This place was so lush with green during the early summer tour (held in the beginning of June) that it was almost overwhelming.
