One beautiful summer Saturday evening, to go kayaking in Green Lake Wisconsin. I joined the “Green Team” of the Green Lake Conservancy on a night time paddle to Tichora Conservancy. We launched from Spring Valley County Park which is on the east end of Spring Lake.
Spring Lake is the perfect for a beginner paddler, like myself. The waves aren’t rough from the numerous boaters. The water was so smooth to teach myself the best strokes to get myself going, change directions, and slow down if I was cruising too fast.
It has been quite the adventure with my kayak this summer already. When my husband purchased this Field and Stream one for me from Facebook marketplace. This baby is HEAVY! Almost 90 pounds I believe, but I taught myself how to get it up onto my little hatchback by myself and load it right back up without any problem. If you want to check out a video tutorial of me doing this, the link to our You Tube channel should be posted soon here (coming soon).
Paddling by moonlight was such a uniquely beautiful and exhilarating experience! Listening to the diverse sounds of nature and using a nearly full moon as my guide. We paddled our way over for a bonfire before we made our way back.
